This Straw Breaks the Fans’ Backs

Am I reading this correctly, or do I need to drink more coffee this morning to wake up? The article about Darryl Strawberry testing positive for cocaine says he’s on probation for prior drug offenses and he has to be tested at least twice a week. He still uses cocaine, even though he’s going to get tested. Maybe I’m not the one who needs the coffee to wake up.

I see that poor Darryl Strawberry has been caught doing drugs again. He’ll probably receive another lifetime suspension and so it could be late April before baseball reinstates him.

I’m wondering if all the people clamoring for the Braves to release John Rocker are going to be pressuring the Yankees to dump Darryl Strawberry. It’s sad how everyone gets all worked up over a guy being politically incorrect, but no one does a thing about all the pro athletes who are little more than thugs and criminals.

Darryl Strawberry was lucky enough to wear two of the most prized uniforms in baseball, the Dodgers’ and the Yankees’. Now we read that, for the third time, he has tested positive for cocaine. I can only hope baseball will uphold the integrity of the game and ban this guy for life.

I read where Darryl Strawberry’s teammates celebrated with nonalcoholic champagne last year in respect of his sobriety. Now we read that right before the season starts, he tests positive for cocaine. Nice team player!
