Lone Star Closes Units, but Not in Southland

Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon Inc. said Tuesday that it has closed 24 under-performing restaurants in the United States, but the chain’s Southern California locations were not affected.

Lone Star restaurants in Laguna Hills, Tustin and Long Beach will remain open, the company said.

The company, based in Wichita, Kan., said the closed restaurants lost a total of about $2.8 million in 1999 on sales of about $21 million.
