* Hoagy Homage--The “Hoagy Carmichael Centennial Celebration” will be presented Jan. 13 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza’s Kavli Theatre, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. The production will pay tribute to that great American songwriter whose “Stardust” is one of the most recorded songs of all time. Featured performers: pianist Tom Fay, who will direct the 14-member Stardust Orchestra; vocal quartet the Small Frys; tap dancer Tony Waag; and vocalists Dwayne Grayman and Becky Lillie. * Dance--The Lula Washington Dance Theatre will perform an installment of the Pieces of the World series Jan. 14 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Scherr Forum, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. The troupe performs modern dance in the African American tradition. Show time: 8 p.m. $20. 646-8907.

* Portrayal--Hal Holbrook will stage his Tony Award-winning “Mark Twain Tonight!” Jan. 15 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Kavli Theatre, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. Holbrook has portrayed Twain for 45 years and has mined more than 12 hours of the humorist’s material, allowing the actor to arrange the program as he performs.
