Time Rescheduled for Woods Memorial
The time for a memorial service for Geraldine Pittman Woods has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Congregational Church of Christian Fellowship. The service at the church, 2085 S. Hobart Blvd., Los Angeles, had previously been announced as beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Geraldine P. Woods Endowment Fund, c/o Grozellia Herring, Howard University College of Medicine, 2225 Georgia Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. 20059. A Times obituary on Woods published Wednesday incorrectly stated the ZIP Code.
Woods, who campaigned for better educational opportunities for minorities, died Dec. 27 in Aliso Viejo in Orange County. She was 78.
