Radisson to Open Its 400th

Radisson Hotels Worldwide introduces a new corporate logo Tuesday with ceremonies in the world-renowned cities of Minneapolis (home to Radisson parent Carlson Cos. Inc.), New York, Hong Kong and . . . Buena Park.
The local affair celebrates the Buena Park Hotel’s rebranding as the 400th Radisson--a step toward Knott’s Berry Farm’s goal of repositioning itself as more than a place to go for a day. Carlson President Eric Danziger will attend, along with Richard Kinzel, president of Knott’s parent Cedar Fair LP, the Ohio company that bought and fixed up the hotel.
That day, Buena Park planning commissioners will take up another aspect of Knott’s expansion: a water park that some neighbors contend will be too noisy.
Knott’s boss, Jack Falfas, said he is trying to be sensitive, building a sound wall with greenery into his plans, moving one ride away from the residents’ homes on Stanton Avenue and changing park exits so that Stanton Avenue gets less traffic. His goal: winning approval of an environmental impact report so the project can proceed.
