Pen Interconnect Inc., an Irvine manufacturer, said it has sold its PowerStream Technology division, headquartered in Orem, Utah, to a Utah-based company.

Terms of the sale and the name of the buyer were not disclosed.

The sale is the “initial step” in a series of consolidations that began early last year to make Pen Interconnect a more “growth-oriented company,” said Stephen Fryer, Pen’s president.

PowerStream Technology manufactures such products as battery chargers and DC converters.
