GoTo.com Names CEO

GoTo.com Inc., an advertising-based Internet search service, said it named Ted Meisel chief executive and Jeffrey Brewer executive chairman of the board. Both promotions become effective Feb. 1. Meisel joined the Pasadena-based company in December 1998 as chief operating officer and added the title of president in May. He will retain that title. Brewer is a founder of the company and is now chief executive. As executive chairman, he remains a full-time member of GoTo.com’s management team, the company said. GoTo.com shares fell $5.25 to close at $62.75 on Nasdaq.
