SAN FRANCISCO--Celebrate the sea lion next weekend, Jan. 22-23, at the Sea Lion 10th Anniversary Celebration. As hundreds of the marine mammals dine on herring in the bay, pier visitors will be treated to habitat talks, entertainment, ocean-related exhibits and prizes. VALLEJO--Birding outings, wetland walks, an art exhibit and hands-on activities for kids will mark the fourth annual Northern San Francisco Bay Flyway Festival next weekend, Jan. 21-23. Saturday is Family Wildlife Exploration Day, including kids’ activities, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Mare Island, San Pablo Bay. MENDOCINO--It’s crab season along the Mendocino coast, where Crab & Wine Days will be celebrated Jan. 28-Feb. 5. Events begin Jan. 28 with the Crabbiest Person contest at the Little River Inn (free). Cruises to watch crabs being caught are scheduled each day in Noyo Harbor ($12.50 for guests of participating hotels; $25 for others; children 16 and under $12.50). CHULA VISTA--Head south for the winter to the San Diego Bay Bird Festival, Jan. 29-30, with guided nature and bird walks, seminars and a birding exhibit.
