Police Slaying

Re “Police Slaying Still Torments Claremont,” Jan. 11: I can understand why many in Claremont are tormented. The people in charge are telling them to believe the most unbelievable story ever conceived.

They are being told that a .45-caliber weapon fired three times at close range didn’t hit anything. They are also being told to ignore the report from the sheriff’s lab that says the weapon was never fired and there are no fingerprints on it.

It must be very disturbing to know the truth and have someone in authority ask you to believe a lie.
