$200,000 to Benefit Programs for Needy
Thirty area nonprofit organizations have received nearly $200,000 in Kaiser Permanente Health Partnership Award grants that will benefit health and social service programs.
Grants ranging from $4,000 to $15,000 per agency will be used for immunization outreach, medical services, delinquency deterrence, tattoo removal and programs addressing domestic violence, child abuse and drug prevention in the San Fernando, Santa Clarita, Antelope, Simi and Conejo valleys.
San Fernando Valley recipients include Northeast Valley Health Corp. for its breast and cervical cancer screening program, Child and Family Guidance Center in Northridge for parenting education classes, and San Fernando High School for its Teen Health and Prevention Education program, in addition to several clinics in elementary schools.
The Health Partnership Award grants are part of Kaiser Permanente’s Community Service Fund program that gives money to area nonprofit organizations that serve disadvantaged people in culturally diverse communities.
