Rock star Rod Stewart, who was among about a dozen performers who helped the concert industry hit an all-time high in ticket revenues last year, has completed a major addition to his 8-year-old Beverly Hills-area home.

The singer, 55, has been performing since the ‘60s and is known for such hits as “Maggie May,” “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” and, more recently, “Have I Told You Lately.”

Stewart’s Georgian-style home, on 2 acres, was expanded from 21,000 to 25,000 square feet, with construction of three new bedrooms and an upper deck. The house now has seven bedrooms plus a master suite.

The expansion also included a 1,000-square-foot screening room capable of showing 35-millimeter films.

Stewart started the expansion in fall 1998, before he and his wife, model Rachel Hunter, separated early last year after nine years of marriage.

Stewart also has a 15,000-square-foot home on 50 acres near London.

Architect Richard Landry designed the addition, which was built by Rob Glass of Glass Development.

Celebrity biographer Donald Spoto, who is going on tour this month for his new biography on Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, has sold his Wilshire corridor condo for its full asking price of $995,000.

After his book tour, Spoto, 58, is moving to London for three years while working on a book about Agatha Christie. He has written more than a dozen celebrity books focusing on such stars as Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor.

He totally refurbished the condo, which he bought a couple of years ago. The 16th-floor unit, which has mountain-to-ocean views, has three bedrooms, a den and built-in bookshelves.

Producer Andrew Stevens, president and chief executive of Franchise Pictures, has sold his Encino home on slightly more than an acre for about $1.8 million.

Stevens, 44, has produced more than 40 movies, including the upcoming “The Whole Nine Yards,” starring Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry, and “Battlefield Earth,” starring John Travolta and Forest Whitaker. The Willis movie is due out in February; the John Travolta film is scheduled for May.

Stevens, a former actor, is the son of actress Stella Stevens.

He sold his ranch-style Encino home, with five bedrooms in 5,000 square feet, to an investment banker. The home, which Stevens had owned since 1994, also has a tennis court.

Stevens bought a larger home in a gated Beverly Hills-area community last year.

Lee Ziff and Joyce Essex of Coldwell Banker, Beverly Hills North, represented the buyer.
