Another Source of Fine Art for the Home

Share

In her article “Monthly Masters” (Jan. 6), reporter Mimi Avins did a good job of presenting the many benefits of renting fine art, both as an entree into collecting and as a way to transform a home into a changing exhibition space. Her article also pointed out the benefit of art rental and sales services as sources of income for museums.

Quite rightly, however, Avins realizes that monthly rental fees of $1,000 a month for master works available through Fineartlease.com are beyond the means of many Times readers. Although she mentions the L.A. County Museum of Art’s Rental and Sales Gallery as a less expensive source for fine art rental, she does not include the only museum-sponsored rental and sales gallery in Orange County here at the Laguna Art Museum. Your many Orange County readers will certainly be interested in knowing about our service, which, like LACMA’s, allows individuals and corporations to rent or purchase contemporary art by California artists for as little as $12.50 a month.

I invite anyone interested in viewing the Laguna Art Museum’s considerable Art Rental and Sales Gallery inventory to call me for an appointment, (949) 494-8971, or e-mail me at bstockman@lagunaartmuseum.org.
