Rich and Poor

Re “Boom Time a Bad Time for Poorest,” Jan. 19: Reading about the poorest getting poorer, it is disconcerting to realize you are making less than the poorest, and you are supposed to be middle class. Of course, I don’t have the debt burden mentioned.

These are interesting times. In the past, when these kinds of disparities occurred between the rich and the poor, bloody revolutions have taken place. It will be interesting to see if democracy can solve this problem without knocking the whole economy out of whack, or worse, bringing on a violent, bloody revolution.
