Ice Dogs Lose to Wolves, 3-1

Steve Larouche and Steve Maltais each had a goal and an assist at Rosemont, Ill., Sunday as the Chicago Wolves defeated the Long Beach Ice Dogs, 3-1, for their fourth win in five games.

Larouche opened the scoring on the power play with 7:50 left in the first period before assisting on Maltais’ goal early in the second for a 2-0 lead.

Andrei Trefilov made 24 saves for the Wolves, who improved to 5-3 against the Ice Dogs this season. Claude Jutras accounted for the Ice Dogs’ lone goal late in the third.

Scott Pearson added an empty netter at 19:34 of the third to seal the victory for Chicago.

Nikolai Khabibulin made 17 saves for the Ice Dogs, whose four-game winning streak ended.
