Petsmart.com Names Disney Exec to CFO Post

* Petsmart.com, a Pasadena-based online pet supply site, has appointed Gary Marcotte chief financial officer. Marcotte comes from Walt Disney Co., where he served as chief financial officer and vice president of Disney Regional Entertainment. Petsmart.com is a privately held company that has a strategic alliance with pet store retailer Petsmart Inc.

* Michael Peevey, founder and chairman of NewEnergy, has resigned from the company. Los Angeles-based NewEnergy, a division of AES Corp., is an electricity marketer--one of a relatively new breed of companies that is allowed under deregulation to “poach” customers from old monopoly utilities. Peevey said he was leaving “to pursue other opportunities.” No successor has been named.

* Intertainer Inc. of Culver City has promoted Vice President of Product Development Joel McConaughy to senior vice president of technology and has tapped Vice President of Advertising Terrence Coles to be senior vice president of content. Intertainer is a provider of broadband services.

* Mercury Air Group Inc., a Los Angeles-based provider of aviation petroleum products and of services, has restructured its Mercury Air Centers subsidiary and is making management changes: Dan McDyre was named Western regional director; Wes Daniels, general manager in Reno; and Fred Allega, general manager at Los Angeles International Airport.
