GOVERNMENT CONTRACT AWARDS

Nitrates Inc. of Westlake Village won a $1.1-million contract from the Navy in Arlington, Va., for research and development.

* Prc-desoto International of Burbank won a $289,428 contract from the Navy in Mechanicsburg, Pa., for brushes, paints, sealers and adhesives.

* Graphics Press of San Fernando won a $200,000 contract from the U.S. Government Printing Office in Washington, D.C., for photographic, mapping, printing and publication services.

* Bahr Machine Co. of Chatsworth won a $120,756 contract from the Defense General Supply Center in Richmond, Va., for aircraft components and accessories.
