Snowstorm Delays Labor Costs Report

Release of the U.S. employment cost index for the fourth quarter has been delayed a day, until Friday, the Labor Department said, because of a powerful snowstorm that hit the eastern U.S. on Tuesday and kept federal offices closed again on Wednesday. The Commerce Department said its report on fourth-quarter gross domestic product figures will be released as planned on Friday, but snow-related shutdowns may mean it is an abbreviated version.
