Street Resurfacing

Share

* We waited almost 50 years to have Kester Avenue in Sherman Oaks and Van Nuys resurfaced. Very little work was done on it or under it. Finally, in the fall of 1999, Kester Avenue was resurfaced. We had a nice, smooth and beautiful street.

Now in 2000, they come along and cut up the new street to work on the water mains. What a waste. The streets are never the same after they are torn up.

Why can’t the department heads get together and plan this work on the underground projects before the resurfacing is started? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to plan ahead.

Why does our City Council allow this to happen? Whenever a street is to be resurfaced, every city department (Water and Power, sewer, the gas company, telephone company) should be notified well ahead of time to get its work completed before any resurfacing is started.

What a waste of time and money.
