PASTORS AND FAMILIES: The Pastors Assn. will hold a free family event, Saving Families, that will feature clowns, puppet shows and Christian story times from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Birmingham High School, 1700 Haynes St., Van Nuys. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: Congregational Church of Northridge will hold a vacation Bible school for children from nursery school age to junior high school from 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Monday through Friday at the church, 9659 Balboa Blvd. The Bible school will have a theme based on the Australian Olympics. PRAYER SUPPORT GROUP: A centering prayer support group will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Spirit Retreat Center, 4316 Lanai Road, Encino. Centering prayer is a silent mediation method intended to deepen one’s relationship with God and involves two 20-minute centering prayer periods separated by a meditative walk. Free. CHRISTIAN WOMEN NETWORKING: SIS, Sister Inspiring Sisters, a Christian networking group for women of color, will hold its annual membership luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m. July 15 at the California City Buffet, 9244 Reseda Blvd., Northridge. 25TH ANNIVERSARY: The San Fernando Valley chapter of Naim, an organization for widows and widowers, will celebrate Mass at 11 a.m. July 16 at Our Lady of Grace Church, 5011 White Oak Ave., Encino. Afterward, the group will hold a luncheon celebration in honor of its 25th anniversary at the Encino Glen restaurant, 16821 Burbank Blvd. Naim is the town where Jesus showed compassion to a widowed mother who was burying her only son.
