Long Beach Memorial Hospice Program needs volunteers to provide support to terminally ill patients and their families. The program, which also has opportunities for clerical and bereavement support, serves the greater Long Beach area, Seal Beach and parts of Orange County. Training is provided. * Providence St. Joseph Medical Center needs volunteers for the senior peer counseling program. Volunteers provide counseling to seniors and aids those mourning the loss of a loved one and those adjusting to disabilities. * Valley Store of Jewish Family Service, a nonsectarian social service agency, is seeking volunteers to work one-on-one with senior citizens. Responsibilities include helping seniors with referrals to various services and possibly individual counseling and working with support groups. Training is provided.
