THE SAFETY ZONE: ACTION LOG

The Times publishes a daily list of police incident reports provided by local law enforcement agencies. The Times prints items as soon as departments make them available. Because many departments release incident reports only weekly, not every community will be represented in each day’s Action Log. Authorities from the following cities released incident reports Monday:

BREA

* Birch Street: Burglary was reported in the 100 block at 2:52 a.m. Sunday.

* Brea Mall: Grand theft was reported in the 1100 block at 1:24 p.m. Sunday.

* East Date Street: Burglary was reported in the 700 block at 8:39 p.m. Saturday.

COSTA MESA

* Baker Street: Annoying phone calls were reported in the 1000 block at 11:50 a.m. Thursday.

* Chestnut Avenue: A disturbance was reported in the 2900 block at 5 p.m. Thursday.

* Maple Avenue: Loud music was reported in the 1900 block at 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

* Wallace Avenue: A disturbance was reported in the 2000 block at 6:20 p.m. Thursday.

DANA POINT

* Antigua: A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of violating his parole at 11:40 a.m. Friday.

* Avenida Capri: A man reported his car was broken into, but nothing was taken, in the 33000 block at 6:10 p.m. Friday.

* Camino Capistrano: A man reported his trash cans were thrown into the street in the 35000 block at 10:30 p.m. Friday.

* Dana Point Harbor Drive: An 83-year-old man was cited on suspicion of fishing in the marine life refuge in the 24000 block at 11:50 a.m. Friday.

FULLERTON

* East Commonwealth Avenue: A burglary was reported in the 300 block at 3:08 a.m. Sunday.

* North Acacia Avenue: A prowler was reported in the 1700 block at 9:20 p.m. Saturday.

* South Harbor Boulevard: A petty theft was reported in the 900 block at 4:29 p.m. Saturday.

* East Yorba Linda Boulevard: A grand theft was reported in the 2900 block at 8:16 p.m. Saturday.

GARDEN GROVE

* Newhope Street: A report of what police say was a gang-related assault in the 13100 block at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The victim was attacked by three men while walking through a field behind a school. The victim was stabbed in the back and right arm, but the injuries were minor. The victim was treated at Garden Grove Medical Center.

LA HABRA

* West Las Lomas Drive: An auto theft was reported in the 900 block at 1:21 p.m. Sunday.

* South Bedford Street: A burglary was reported in the 300 block at 1:17 p.m. Sunday.

* South Cypress Street: Embezzlement was reported in the 500 block at 1:13 p.m. Saturday.

* South Idaho Street: Vandalism was reported in the 900 block at 10:17 a.m. Saturday.

LOS ALAMITOS

* Howard Avenue: A report of illegal dumping in the 4400 block at 5:42 p.m. on Tuesday.

NEWPORT BEACH

* Marguerite Avenue: Boxes of books valued at $2,800 were stolen from a carport in the 1600 block between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

* Marguerite Avenue: A car parked in the 600 block was broken into between 9:30 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. Friday, but nothing was reported stolen.

PLACENTIA

* West Center Street: A 22-year-old man was arrested for vandalism at 12 a.m. Saturday.

* Howard Place: A white Ford Taurus containing male juveniles followed a woman to her home at 1 a.m. Saturday.

* West Kimberly Avenue: Someone set off the fire alarm in the 700 block at 1:02 a.m. Saturday.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO

* Camino Capistrano: An auto dealership employee reported a building was painted with graffiti in the 33000 block at 6:15 a.m. Saturday.

* La Zanja Street: A man was reportedly assaulted twice in one night, including once while in the custody of a deputy, in the 26000 block at 2:20 a.m. Saturday. He reportedly suffered a 1-inch head gash in an assault by five men in an alley. After deputies took him and one of the other men to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, the alleged assailant attacked the man again, leaving one deputy with a bruise, according to reports. A man was arrested on suspicion of the assaults.

* Paseo Espada: A 43-year-old woman reported receiving 12 to 15 annoying and obscene phone calls at work in the 27000 block at 3:45 p.m. Friday.

* Paseo Terraza: A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a loaded firearm after deputies reportedly found a pistol in his car’s glove box near Del Obispo Street at 8:35 a.m. Friday.

YORBA LINDA

* Eagles Nest Drive: An injury traffic accident was reported in the 21000 block at 11:51 a.m. Sunday.

* Nantucket Lane: Vandalism was reported in the 6000 block at 3:17 p.m. Sunday.

* Via Lucia: Vandalism was reported in the 5000 block at 6:47 p.m. Sunday.

* Via Perla: Vandalism was reported in the 5700 block at 11:12 a.m. Saturday.

Authorities from the following cities did not release incident reports: Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach, La Palma, Orange, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Tustin and Westminster.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department makes incident reports available on the Web. Go to https://www.ocsd.org and click on “Sheriff’s Blotter.” Incident reports are updated every few minutes and cover the cities of Dana Point, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Stanton and Villa Park, as well as the county’s unincorporated areas.
