FULLERTON

The city has received more than 160 cases involving code violations since a special task force, aimed at targeting unsightly and neglected neighborhoods, was launched six months ago.
The Neighborhood Enhancement Team is an extension of the city’s Operation Cleanup program, which addressed blight and high crime in a few of Fullerton’s oldest neighborhoods.
The new program covers the entire city and cracks down on people who violate city codes by not maintaining their property. Employees of all city departments will help by keeping track of run-down areas and submitting a card to alert the Code Enforcement Department of a problem section. So far, the new task force has received 164 yellow cards, 90 of which have resulted in either repairs or cleanup.
