GARDEN GROVE
The City Council on Tuesday approved three agreements to increase police services in Garden Grove. The council approved a computer equipment upgrade for crime analysis and mapping that will be paid for with a $169,815 state grant.
Gary Maiten was hired part time to provide vehicle fleet and facilities management, at $31,200 a year. Maiten recently retired after providing similar services to the Seal Beach Police Department for 32 years.
Also, the council voted to extend a $129,800 contract for another year with the Girls and Boys Club of Garden Grove to provide diversion programs for juveniles. Information: (714) 741-5704.
