NBC’s “The West Wing” scored a landslide victory as the 1999-2000 season’s outstanding program in a vote by a group of more than 200 television critics, with the White House drama receiving a trio of awards Saturday as best drama, new program and overall program.

The Television Critics Assn. also honored the first-year Fox series “Malcolm in the Middle” as best comedy and HBO’s gritty production “The Corner” as the year’s outstanding movie or miniseries.

Individual awards were given to “The Sopranos” star James Gandolfini and “Malcolm’s” Jane Kaczmarek, with Dick Van Dyke selected for the group’s career achievement award. ABC’s millennium coverage was named best news program, while PBS’ “Between the Lions” topped the balloting in the children’s programming category.
