Children living on the east side of the city will be able to attend a neighborhood program before and after school this fall if a county grant is approved.

The Fullerton School District and the Boys & Girls Club of Fullerton have joined to apply for a $355,604, three-year grant for the enrichment program at Commonwealth Elementary School.

The program is one of several the Orange County Social Service Agency will consider this summer for the $4.3 million it has set aside for after-school enrichment programs throughout the county. Fullerton’s program would serve about 25 children from Commonwealth Elementary and Ladera Vista Junior High School before school and as many as 100 students in the afternoons.
