FULLERTON
City officials ended their contract Tuesday with a construction company they claim was doing shoddy work and not meeting deadlines.
An agreement was reached between the city and B-1 Enterprises Corp., a Corona-based construction company, to rescind a $198,553 contract to reconstruct curbs, gutters and sidewalks in the city.
“The contractor was doing unsatisfactory work and had asked us to release him from his contract,” Councilwoman Jan M. Flory said.
B-1 Enterprise contractors were unavailable for comment.
A new company and the second-lowest bidder on the project, C.J. Construction of Santa Fe Springs, will take over the project.
