Liberty Wins Sixth in Row
The New York Liberty extended its win streak to six with a 78-55 rout of the expansion Storm Wednesday before 9,395 at Seattle.
The victory was the largest margin of victory for New York (13-9) this season. The loss was the sixth in a row for the Storm (3-19).
Phoenix 86, Utah 76--Two days after going one for 11 in the WNBA All-Star game, Brandy Reed scored 24 of her 31 points in the second half to lead the host Mercury (14-7) over the Starzz (12-11) before 9,327. Mercury Coach Cheryl Miller missed the game because she was recuperating from knee surgery.
Orlando 88, Detroit 78--Nykesha Sales had 20 points and seven assists to lead the Miracle (14-8) over the Shock (10-11) before 9,464 at Orlando, Fla.
Miami 69, Portland 62--Katrina Colleton had 19 points as the Sol (8-14) beat the Fire (7-14) before 6,809 at Miami.
