The City Council voted unanimously this week to appoint Tim O’Donnell, Brea’s assistant city manager for 10 years, to the position of city manager.
O’Donnell will replace Frank Benest, who left the city in April for a post in Palo Alto. O’Donnell has served as interim city manager since Benest’s departure.
The position pays an annual salary of $138,000, with a 2.5% raise due Jan. 1, 2001.
