REGIONAL PEOPLE

* Priscilla Partridge de Garcia, executive director of the Oxnard College Foundation of Oxnard Community College, was one of 88 college and university administrators selected to participate in the 22nd annual Harvard Institute for Management and Leadership in Education. Participants in the two-week program were selected on the basis of their leadership records and ability to contribute to the future of their institutions.

Topics at the program included serving new groups of learners, forging new partnerships and delivering education in new formats.

* Goleta National Bank has named Gerald C. Baggett Jr. vice president and commercial banking officer at its Ventura branch. He will work to increase the bank’s commercial lending to local and regional firms.

Goleta National Bank has branches in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.

* Mindy A. Wolfe has joined the law firm of Hatch & Parent as an associate attorney, working with its real estate and land-use practice group. Previously she practiced law with Reetz, Fox & Bartlett LLP in Santa Barbara.

Hatch & Parent has offices in Ventura County, Santa Barbara, South Lake Tahoe and San Diego.

* Vickie Weiner has been named executive director of the Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence. She has 15 years of experience in marketing and fund-raising.

The coalition is a nonprofit family treatment agency that provides services to survivors of family and sexual violence, and violence prevention and education programs for women, men and children.

* Marti DeLaO, executive director for Ventura College Foundation, has been awarded the professional designation of certified fund-raising executive from the CFRE Professional Certification Board. Individuals granted the credential have met a series of standards set by the board, including tenure in the profession, education, professional achievements and a commitment to service for nonprofit organizations.

DeLaO also agreed to uphold a code of ethics and the donor bill of rights, and she passed a written examination before receiving the certification.

* Philip S. Bacalzo has joined the Oxnard office of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter as a financial advisor. He received the assignment after completing the company’s studies program in New York.
