Rancho Mission Viejo Land Conservancy Director Laura Cohen is back to work this week with a host of new ideas for education and safety on the trails.

Cohen returned from an annual Audubon Society summer camp in Wyoming, and she plans to integrate some of the concepts she learned at the camp into her work at the conservancy.

The ideas she brought back include “scat in a jar,” which involves display of samples of different animal feces in jars so visitors can more easily identify droppings on the trails; and new digital humidity monitors, so children can compare the humidity in different ecosystems.
