Kids II Recalls 99,000 Infant Bouncer Seats
- Share via
Kids II is recalling about 99,000 bouncer seats because the removable semicircular toy bar attached to the seat can suddenly release and injure babies, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said. The bouncer seats for babies and toddlers were sold in general merchandise and juvenile specialty stores in the U.S. from October 1997 through April 2000. Kids II, a privately held company based in Alpharetta, Ga., has received 122 reports of the toy bar suddenly releasing, resulting in 31 injuries to babies including a black eye, a scraped eye and facial cuts, the commission said. Kids II recommends that consumers remove the toy bar immediately and call toll free ([877] 325-7056) to receive a free repair kit. The seats were sold under the names “Soft Toy Bouncer Seat” and “Comfort Me Bouncer” and have the Kids II logo embroidered on the crotch straps.
