Council members are polishing their pet projects in preparation for next week’s budget study sessions, where they will discuss how the city will spend its money in the coming year. The 2000-2001 budget, to be adopted later this month, will take effect July 1.
Some council members already have ideas, ranging from new parks to the hiring of more police officers for the community.
“We have over $16 million in our hands,” said Councilman Norman Z. Eckenrode. “Two-thirds of that money is surplus money we need to invest in the community.”
