Climbing Guide Dies in Fall on Alaska Mountain

A climbing guide from Colorado was killed when he fell into a glacial crevasse on a remote Alaska mountain, the Alaska State Troopers and National Park Service said Friday.

David Paisley, 38, a guide for Colorado Springs-based Quest Adventures, fell about 75 feet into a crevasse on a glacier of Mt. Bona, a 16,421-foot peak in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve, officials said.

The fall occurred when Paisley and his two clients were descending after reaching the peak’s summit, the troopers said.
