The City Council voted 3 to 2 last week to deny PCS Assets/Sprint a permit to install a set of cellular phone antennas on a Southern California Edison tower within Bolsa Nursery. The company’s application and two others were filed before the council imposed a 45-day moratorium on permits for antennas within the city. Citing inadequate guidelines for approving cellular antennas, the council approved the moratorium at its May 10 meeting. Council members have expressed concern over the growing number of requests to install antennas because their effect on the community is unknown.
