The Police Department will have a reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today to display its new $3.5-million computer-aided dispatch system and remodeled communications center.
Located at the department headquarters, 11301 Acacia Parkway, the new center is the first in Orange County to combine a Windows-based dispatch system with a mobile computer terminal, used by officers in their patrol cars. Police Chief Joe Polisar said the new system will allow officers in the field to receive critical information such as suspects’ photographs, fingerprints and criminal records. Information: (714) 741-5904.
