SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
Members of the No Home Depot Committee and residents of Capistrano Valley Mobile Estates plan to demonstrate today at City Hall against selling city land to Home Depot or Lowes.
The Community Redevelopment Agency board of directors is scheduled to discuss the issue in closed session with its real property negotiator at 5:30 p.m. today.
The No Home Depot Committee is against building a Home Depot in the space because it thinks the store would increase traffic along Camino Capistrano, Stonehill Drive and Doheny Road and would hurt small businesses such as hardware stores and nurseries, said Marianna Handler, a member of the residents group.
