City officials are putting the final touches on an $80-million budget for 2000-01. The spending plan, already approved last year as part of a two-year budget, reflects a $30-million drop in spending from last year when the city funded projects such as the Imperial Highway widening, the Black Gold Golf Course and the SAVI Ranch shopping center.

Yorba Linda has adopted two-year budget plans since 1988. Because plans for the coming fiscal year were approved with last fiscal year’s budget, there will be no study session this year, Finance Director Susan Hartman said.

She said department directors will make their changes in the 2000-01 budget this month so the final version can be taken to the council to be ratified at its second meeting in July. The fiscal year begins July 1.
