FOUNTAIN VALLEY

The Community Services Division is offering a free neighborhood playground program for ages 6 through 12 at four locations starting June 26. Each park will be staffed with recreation leaders who will lead activities such as arts and crafts, games, water events and mini-sports tournaments. Some activities will require a nominal fee.

Although the program is mostly free, advanced registration is required by signing up at the Fountain Valley Recreation Center, 16400 Brookhurst St., or at the park before participating. The parks are: the Recreation Center, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Stonecress Park, 11240 Stonecress Ave., Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Courreges Park, 8665 Rouge River, Monday through Friday, 1 to 5 p.m.; and Los Alamos Park, 17901 Los Alamos, Tuesday through Thursday from 1 to 5 p.m.
