Hueneme Grad Receives $1,000 Scholarship
* Hueneme High School graduating senior Trinidad Herrera was one of four statewide recipients of an Automotive Services Council scholarship. Herrera, the son of immigrant farm workers, will receive $500 from the state organization, plus another $500 from its Ventura County chapter.
Youth Program Gets VCR for Video Arts * Jones Intercable and American Movie Classics network awarded $500 and a VCR to the El Centrito Youth Program in Oxnard. The gift is intended to “encourage the video arts among high school students.”
