Re “LAPD Can’t Pull Fast One on This Veteran Agitator,” June 8: Blazes! George Skelton praises state Sen. Tom Hayden for uncovering the Los Angeles Police Department’s nefarious plot to acquire pepper spray and launchers [to fire pepper balls]! I trust that both parties will now forgo criticizing officers who use deadly force because less-than-lethal equipment is unavailable.
