LAKE FOREST
The City Council last week unanimously decided to take part in a study of Newport Bay and San Diego Creek.
The study will look at ways to protect the bay and creek against flood and erosion, how to maintain the ecosystem and improve water quality. Every agency in the two-year project is required to contribute $40,000 per year.
The study is expected to be finished in August 2001.
The council will meet at 6 p.m. June 20 at City Hall, 23161 Lake Center Drive.
