Day Set to Mourn Children Who Died in Foster Care
GARDENA —
An organization founded in memory of a boy who died while in foster care said it will accept a proclamation from the city tonight declaring Wednesday a “Day of Mourning” for all children who died in Los Angeles County’s care.
Gardena is announcing the Day of Mourning because that is where the Jonathan Reid Family Rights Coalition is based. The organization is run by the family of Jonathan, who died at age 9 in 1997 while under county foster care.
