Intel Corp. and Microsoft Corp. said they are jointly developing a standard to use Bluetooth wireless technology in connecting cellular phones with computers. Bluetooth is based on a low-cost, shortwave radio link for computers and wireless communication devices. Microsoft and Intel, whose chips and software power the majority of personal computers, are developing a “road map” to support Bluetooth for Microsoft’s Windows during the first half of 2001. Intel has also developed Bluetooth software that will allow the wireless transfer of computer files, synchronization between devices and dial-up networking.
