Anaheim Hills Golf Course will award a pass good for one free round per month for one year to its 2 millionth customer, expected sometime before Tuesday.

Through June 4, the number of rounds played at the 27 1/2-year-old course was 1,997,081. It took 17 years for the number to reach 1 million.

The lucky golfer will also receive a gift pack that includes clothes and golf balls.

NO TIME FOR GRUB

Tijeras Creek Golf Course in Rancho Santa Margarita has reintroduced an 18-hole rate for weekday golfers, General Manager Jennifer Alderson said Tuesday.

For the last 10 months, weekday players at Tijeras Creek had to pay $125 for unlimited golf, range balls, food and soft drinks. While the “Unlimited Experience” is still available, golfers now have the option of playing 18 holes for $80 Monday through Thursday.

“We had a lot of golfers who said the unlimited rate was great, but didn’t have the time to take advantage of it,” Alderson said.

Weekend green fees have also been restructured. Friday through Sunday, before noon, the fee remains $125 and includes unlimited play on a space-available basis. Between noon and 3 p.m., 18 holes is $90 and $60 after 3 p.m.

DUBOIS QUALIFIES

Donald DuBois of Coto de Caza shot 72 Monday at Antelope Valley Country Club in Palmdale and qualified for the California Amateur championship.

DuBois finished seventh, two strokes behind co-medalists Mike Applegate and Travis Matye, both of Lancaster. The California Amateur championship is July 17-22 at Bayonet and Blackhorse Golf Club in Seaside.

KISHIMIZU HONORED
