Does NBC Stand for No Broadcast Clue?

Here it is again. The ladies’ final from Roland Garros is being delayed until noon PDT and the men’s final is being broadcast live on Sunday morning. This programming is being brought to us by the same network, NBC, that promises not to broadcast any live events from the 2000 Olympics at Sydney this summer.

Maybe when the ratings for the delayed broadcasts are poor because they are anticlimactic, the network management will get a clue that the viewers like the spontaneity and unpredictable nature of live broadcasting. Not managed, spoon-fed programming around events the results of which are already known.
