A local conservation group said it has gathered enough signatures to put an initiative on the November city ballot requiring a public vote for developments that would hurt Brea’s hillside environment.
Representatives of Save Brea’s Hills turned in their petitions Monday for the hillside initiative. Claiming wide support from local citizens, they said they collected more than 4,400 signatures.
City Clerk Elaine Capps could not confirm the number of signatures by the end of the day Monday.
