GARDEN GROVE

Three city departments have recently been recognized for outstanding achievement. The city’s local cable channel, Cable 3A, received the first-place honor for best news program this month from the Alliance for Community Media’s Hometown Video Festival 2000 contest.

The program, “This Week in Garden Grove,” was one of 1,472 festival entries from cable stations across the United States and Canada. The city’s controller’s office received certificates of achievement for financial reporting from state and federal agencies. The Garden Grove Public Works Department was, for the sixth year, recertified as a “Tree City USA” by the California Department of Forestry.
