GARDEN GROVE
Kenneth H. Slimmer announced Tuesday that he will not seek reelection to the Garden Grove Unified School District’s Board of Education this fall.
Slimmer has had the longest tenure of a trustee in Orange County’s second-largest school system, with 47,000 students, having served since 1975.
A retired attorney, Slimmer has served five times as board president and also has been active outside the district, serving as a Garden Grove planning commissioner, president of the Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce and Strawberry Festival, and director of the Orange County School Board Assn.
