PLACENTIA
Capt. Russ Rice was declared the city’s new police chief Tuesday, almost three months after assuming the role as acting chief.
Rice has served 27 years in law enforcement, 26 of those in Placentia. He replaces former Chief Daryll Thomann, who retired April 3.
City Administrator Robert D’Amato said Rice will be sworn in at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the council chamber at City Hall, 401 E. Chapman Ave.
