Beverly Hills Public Library needs teenagers to assist library staff in the children’s division this summer with Puppet Time and the Harry Potter Club. Puppet Time volunteers read stories to children, ages 6-8, and help them perform puppet shows Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for six weeks beginning July 6. Harry Potter Club volunteers will help with crafts, games and activities on Wednesday afternoons starting July 5. Information: (310) 288-2211.

* Cheer for Children in Redondo Beach needs volunteers to barbecue, entertain or help serve children from South Bay Orthopedically Handicapped Schools on July 14 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Also needed are Hawaiian music, dancers, paper, plastic or silk flowers for leis and hats, hat makers and people with knowledge of Hawaiian history to share with the children. Help is needed to transport food and other items. The group also needs donations of personal toiletry items such as shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes and perfume.
